General
Do I have to pay for mixody at all?
No. mixody is free at its core. You can start parties, search songs, make requests, vote and invite guests without paying anything. You only need Credits if you want to give your requests more weight.
What does mixody cost?
The core features are free. You unlock individual add-on features with Credits when needed.
What are Credits on mixody?
Credits are the in-app currency of mixody. Use them to push your song requests forward. 1 Credit equals 1 EUR. Credits can currently only be purchased in the app (iOS & Android). Larger packs include discounts: 10% from 20 Credits, 20% from 50 Credits, and 30% from 100 Credits. You can see your balance and history with purchases, bonuses, and refunds at any time via the "Credits" button.
What is the "display"?
The mixody display shows the most important party details: title, current song, next songs, and the QR code for joining. You can use it with every player. We especially recommend it for YouTube. As a host, it works best on a laptop, desktop, or TV in fullscreen mode.

For hosts
Do I need Spotify Premium?
Yes, the host needs Spotify Premium for Spotify. YouTube works without a subscription. Amazon Music and Apple Music also require a subscription.
How long does my party stay active?
By default, 24 hours. Hosts can extend the duration to up to 7 days.
Can guests join anonymously?
Yes. The host decides whether guests can join anonymously.
What is the difference between a host and a guest?
The host creates the party, controls audio output, and sets the rules. Guests can request songs, vote, and depending on the settings also listen along via remote playback.
Can I use mixody in public spaces or at commercial events?
In general yes, but with limitations. Many streaming providers do not allow commercial or public use. That is why we are working on integrating Soundtrack Your Brand. If you want to test mixody for a bar, pub, or similar event, write to us at team@mixody.com.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account yourself at any time. Click your profile picture in the top right and choose "Delete account" there. You can also remove individual logins instead.
Why can I not host a mixody party with Spotify on iPad?
mixody can currently lose the Spotify connection on iPad. Our recommendation: start a song in the Spotify app first and only then open mixody. This usually keeps the connection stable. For audio output, we still recommend another device like a smartphone or laptop.
Why can I not find my Sonos speaker in Spotify devices?
Sonos requires its own integration, which mixody does not support yet. You can still use mixody and play the music through a smartphone, computer, or another Bluetooth device.
Can multiple people activate audio playback, for example for a shared playlist in remote work?
Yes. If you enable remote playback, several people can listen to the audio at the same time. This is useful for remote work, long-distance events, or distributed parties. Full control still stays with the host.
For guests
How do I join a party as a guest?
Scan the QR code on the display or enter the party code directly in mixody. You do not need an account. With a login, you also get access to your favorites.
Why should I log in as a guest?
Logging in gives you useful extras. For example, with Spotify you can access your favorite songs and playlists. The login is optional, but it makes joining easier.
What is song skip for guests?
With song skip, guests can skip their own requested song. If multiple people requested the same song, all of them have to agree before it is actually skipped.
What happens if I accidentally close the party page?
No problem. Open the party link again or enter the party code once more. Your requests and votes stay saved as long as you did not log out or switch devices.
Can I use mixody without an app?
Yes. You can use mixody directly in your browser without a download. That applies to hosts and guests.
