General
Do I have to pay for mixody at all?
No. mixody is free at its core. You can start parties, search songs, make requests, vote, and invite guests — without paying anything. Premium parties and subscriptions are available for special events or regular use.
What does mixody cost?
Getting started is free — a regular party runs for up to 12 hours. If you want more, book a premium party for 800 Credits: a one-week runtime, a custom party code, the local music library and the song request limit. For regular use there are subscriptions — cancellable monthly. Plus (€19.99/month): 5 premium parties per month. Professional (€39.99/month): unlimited premium parties. Annual plans cost about two monthly payments less than twelve single months.
What are Credits on mixody?
Credits are the in-app currency of mixody. Guests can use them to push their song requests to the front. 1 Push costs 100 Credits. Credits are available in four packages: 100 Credits – 0,99 € 1.000 Credits – 8,99 € (~9% cheaper) 1.500 Credits – 12,99 € (~12% cheaper) 2.500 Credits – 19,99 € (~19% cheaper)
What is the "Display"?
The mixody display shows the most important party details: title, current song, next songs, and the QR code for joining. You can use it with all players. As a host, the display works best on a laptop, desktop, or TV in fullscreen mode.

For hosts
Do I need Spotify Premium?
For Spotify as a host: yes, Spotify Premium is required. YouTube works without a subscription. Apple Music requires an Apple Music subscription. Alternatively, you can also use a local music library — which is independent of streaming services.
How long does my party stay active?
A regular party runs for up to 12 hours. A premium party runs for one week — from your allowance with a subscription, otherwise for 800 Credits. You can also upgrade later, while the party is already running.
Can guests join anonymously?
Yes. The host decides whether guests may join anonymously.
What is the difference between a host and a guest?
The host creates the party, controls audio output, and sets the rules. Guests can request songs, vote, and, if the host allows it, listen along on their own phone.
Can I use mixody in a bar, gym, or at public events?
Yes. Especially in combination with local music libraries, mixody is suitable for public and commercial events. Local music libraries are included in Plus and Professional. For specific enquiries, reach us at team@mixody.com.
What is a local music library?
Besides Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, mixody also supports local music libraries as a fourth player. You can bring your own music collection (MP3, AAC etc.) straight into mixody — no streaming service required. The local music library is part of the premium party.
What is DJ Mode?
For DJs who play their own sets: guests request songs, and you decide in the DJ dashboard what plays. mixody doesn't play anything automatically. DJ Mode is free and still in beta. You turn it on in a running party under "Advanced settings" and can turn it off at any time. Want to use it or have ideas for it? Email us at team@mixody.com.
What is the song request limit?
The song request limit is an optional setting and part of the premium party. When enabled, each guest may have at most 3 songs in the queue at the same time. As soon as one of your songs has been played or removed, a slot frees up automatically. Votes on other guests’ songs are always possible without restriction.
What is a premium party and when does it count?
A premium party is a single party with all the extras: a one-week runtime, a custom party code, the local music library and the song request limit. It counts exactly once — whether it runs for one evening or a whole week. A three-day city festival is therefore ONE premium party. If you end the party before a total of one hour of music has played, you get it back. Your allowance renews every billing period.
What happens when my monthly allowance is used up?
You can book further premium parties individually for 800 Credits at any time. Running parties are unaffected, and your allowance renews automatically with the next billing month.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account yourself at any time. Click your profile picture in the top right and select "Delete profile". Alternatively, you can also remove individual logins only.
For guests
How do I join a party as a guest?
Scan the QR code on the display or enter the Party-Code directly in mixody. You don't need an account. With a login, however, you get access to your favorites.
Why should I log in as a guest?
Logging in gives you handy extras — for example, access to your favorite songs and playlists via Spotify. The login is optional, but it makes joining easier.
What is song skip for guests?
With song skip, guests can skip their own requested song. If multiple people requested the same song, all of them have to agree before it is actually skipped.
Can I use mixody without an app?
Yes. You can use mixody directly in your browser without downloading anything. This applies to both hosts and guests.
